Co-Chair Mike Adamson to step down later this year
Co-chair of the VCS Emergencies Partnership and Chief Executive Officer of the British Red Cross, Mike Adamson has decided to step down from his roles later this year.
Mike has been a key architect of the VCS Emergencies Partnership from its inception after the Grenfell fire and Manchester Arena attacks, throughout the pandemic and in the space the Partnership now holds in the post-COVID-19 resilience landscape.
Co-chair and CEO of NAVCA, Maddy Desforges said, "Mike’s ability to create space, gently challenge and continuously push for what we can and should strive for as a sector, will be his legacy that I hope we can continue to take forward as a thriving network of better-connected organisations.
We want to thank Mike for his friendship, astute wisdom and insight, and for his role in creating our genuine culture of collaboration."
Mike Adamson said, “It has been a privilege to be part of the formation and establishment of the VCS Emergencies Partnership. I have been incredibly fortunate to work in partnership with organisations across the country who want to achieve better outcomes for people when their lives are turned upside down.
"The fantastic secretariat will continue to play their part in enabling the sector to contribute to the nation’s resilience, helping communities be better connected and better prepared for future emergencies.”
Mike Adamson will remain in post till a new CEO for the British Red Cross is in place, expected in late 2023.
